NYC Resy Drop Times: The Complete Guide to When Restaurants Release Tables
By Claire from the TablePass Team
If you don't know your target restaurant's drop time, you're showing up to a race that already started. I learned this the hard way — spent three mornings checking Tatiana at 10 AM before someone mentioned it drops at noon. Three mornings of refreshing a page that had nothing new on it. Not my proudest moment.
Every restaurant on Resy has a specific time it releases new reservations and a set number of days in advance. This page breaks down all the major ones so you don't make the same mistake I did.
What's a "Drop" and Why Should You Care?
A "drop" is the moment new reservations go live on Resy. Each restaurant sets two things:
- Days ahead: How far in advance they release tables. A 30-day window means today's drop includes reservations for exactly 30 days from today.
- Drop time: The specific time (Eastern Time) when those slots go live. Most NYC restaurants use 9 AM or 10 AM, but some do noon, midnight, or even 8 AM.
So if a restaurant has a 30-day window with a 10 AM drop, then at 10:00 AM on March 23rd, reservations for April 22nd appear. All the slots for that date show up at once — no trickle. If you're not there at exactly 10:00, the prime slots are already claimed.

Wait — What Does "Days Ahead" Actually Mean?
This trips people up all the time. "30 days ahead" does not mean you can book any date within the next 30 days whenever you feel like it. It means today's drop opens up exactly one new date — the date that is 30 days from today. All the dates closer than that were already released on previous mornings. If they're sold out, you missed them.
So if you want a specific date, count backwards by the restaurant's days-ahead number. That's the morning you need to be ready. For a 14-day window restaurant, wanting to dine on April 6th means being on the app on March 23rd. Simple math, but easy to mess up if you're not thinking about it.
How to Be Ready When the Clock Hits
- Pre-load the page. Open Resy 1-2 minutes before the drop. Select your party size and target date so you're not fumbling when the time comes.
- Save your payment method. Any form you have to fill out during booking costs you precious seconds. Get this done before you need it.
- Don't be picky about times. If you see 7:15 when you wanted 7:30, take the 7:15. Waiting for the "perfect" slot means losing the reservation entirely.
- Try multiple days in a row. Any single attempt has low odds. Doing it consistently over a week dramatically improves your chances.
When the Drop Isn't Enough
Even with perfect timing, the most popular slots sell out in seconds. That's where cancellation monitoring comes in. People cancel at all hours — and if you're not checking at that exact random moment, you'll never know the slot was available.
TablePass monitors all of these restaurants 24/7, both for the morning drop and for cancellations at any hour. Set your restaurant, date, party size, and time window, and it books the instant a matching slot appears. Browse all restaurants on TablePass.
